Ahiara Diocese Shines At YCSN Provincial Convention

The contingent of Ahiara Diocesan Young Catholic Students of Nigeria (YCSN) at the convention which was recently held in Aba on the 9th -12th August, 2022 made the Diocese proud by winning most of the competitive events held at the convention.
The YCSN which was recently planted in Ahiara Diocese surprised all by coming out 2nd in football and choral competition. And took 1st postion in quiz and cooking competition. It also won the Master Ideal/ Miss Creativity for the Male and Female Pagentry Cadre, the most disciplined diocese, best behaved
and coordinated diocese and rated the overall winner on the Provincial Convention ground. In the Chaplains’ words “Ahiara was outstanding”.
Speaking at the end of the Convention, the Aba Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Ken Nwulu said that though Ahiara was a baby Diocese, it performed beyond expectation as it took home most of the Medals provided for the convention.
The provincial chaplain, Rev. Fr. Samuel Okoroafor also commended Ahiara Diocesan students for their strives and Rev. Fr. Bede Nwalozie of Owerri Arch Diocese was also happy with Ahiara Diocesan students as he hosted and appreciated the contingent during the convention. The participating dioceses included: Aba, Orlu, Owerri Arch and Umuahia Diocese.

On their arrival at Ahiara Diocese, the Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Ifeanyi Njoku commended the students and expressed gratitude to the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji for supporting the students and approving funds to enable them prepare and attend the four days convention. He commended the Ahiara Diocesan Coordinator, YCSer Francis Njoku and his team of Executives for their hardwork which resulted to the success they recorded at the event.
In conclusion, the students on Sunday 14th August, 2022, organised a thanksgiving mass at St. Charles Catholic Parish Enyiogugu to celebrate God Almighty for their conquest.
